They found a mummy some place in South America of a black man who was over 10,000 years old. That means that people from Africa had made that trip way before any European's did.

The first people to discover the Americas, at least the first I know of, were Asians. That was like 14 to 15 thousand years ago. I suspect there was others earlier then that considering how long h*mo Sapiens have been around.

Funny story about Eurocentric education and the Pacific. Here there was this magnificent culture that knew so much about navigation and how to get around that enormous ocean. The Europeans wondered how in the world did all those people get there? They decided on two possibilities. One being that God must have created them separately or that there must have been a giant continent out there that broke apart in some ancient time. Now it is silly, but that is what folks were taught.

You might be right about that. I was thinking modern history. However, some Native Americans in Peru and up the west coast were from the Asian area of the world. That was in the ice age I believe. I didn't read you post very well. I assumed we were still talking about European History.

Acumen (view profile) Posted 4:09 am, 09/29/2021 Bestill Posted 4:02 am, 09/29/2021 And Eurocentric education does not only negate what we know about navigation in the Atlantic. What were you taught about the navigation of the Pacific? Let me guess! I bet you learned about Magellan being the first person to navigate those waters. How come they did not teach you about the navigators that had been sailing those waters thousands of years before him? They had charts.
Because those people were Celtic. History was written from a Roman stand point and the Celtics were enemies of Rome.
I thought they were Micronesians. But who knows?

Anyhoo, I am certain that anti will get all mad at me over the conversation, but the truth is, we were both victims of Eurocentric educations. If you were educated here, that is the history we learned. How could we know better? The trick is anti, is to recognize how that all American failing, fed the racism in our culture. Is it your fault? Of course not! No more than it is mine. CRT just tells that American story.

When Rome failed, the entire system didn't fall. Power was held by the Roman Catholic Church. That power structure was intact into the 19th century. Napoleon and our founding fathers put the hurt to them and broke most of their control. Only the Kings and Queens who supported the Roman Catholic Church were allowed to rule until Napoleon came along.

Speaking of druids and the"discovery" of America, check out Prince Madoc ab Owain Gwynedd. Betcha no American child of any race or persuasion sat quietly in their seats and learned about that dude!

Most people don't realize that most of Europe was ruled by blacks Muslins for almost 800 years. They were called the Moors. That was the real reason behind the crusades.

History is a lie. It was written by the winners. The losers are always the bad guys. It is always inferior to lose. It is not just the blacks and browns who has been lied about. How much do you know about the Celtics? They were my ancestors and their history has been distorted and left out. My family were Celtic Kings and Queens who lost everything to Christianity because they would not conform. They were forced to become share croppers or to leave Northern Europe. They ended up settling in North and South America. It's a long story and an interesting history.
