& now?In an energy crisis.
Biden is stopping and reducing. Our oil drilling in Alaska and elsewhere...
GOOD.GRIEF. WHEW!!!

Eh EV's are a good "future" thing. Per say not all at one time.
It is a positive move to sever. The US from the Middle Eastern strangle hold.
Even maybe even give a. Nuclear power plant in each new vehicle.
Heck,we can try to deploy. A ruse that artificial intelligence is real.
When there's no such thing. As intelligence being artificial.
Makes those neurons wake up in the mind huh?
Ruse,mankind can never create. Intelligence,it comes from LIFE experience.
A gradual transition to electric. From oil.
But use ALL other energy sources too.

From what I'm reading, E85 fuel (Flex Fuel) is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Moonshine is usually 50-90% ethanol and the rest is water. So if they were to replace the water with plain old gasoline, it would be the same thing as E85!

E85 is about $2.18 a gallon in NC, though, and I don't know many moonshiners that would sell for that price...

Kind of a "secret weapon" coming out. Of Ingle Hollar straight into Miss Flossie's #12.
It burns very hot hence blueish flame.
But? Like nitrous oxide. It can and will burn.
A hole in your piston heads. If you use too much.
Can a car get a DUI? lol
Tee Hee he said piston..

When I was real little, I remember people would put moonshine in their tank! That's pretty darn close to the same thing as ethanol, I think.

And this system has been available for years, to convert any diesel vehicle to run on used vegetable oil...

I thought that the description of how it works was pretty interesting.

The Greasecar system is a two tank fuel system. The vehicles existing diesel tank and filter will supply diesel fuel to the engine at start up and shut down. After start up radiator fluid will transfer heat from the engine to the heat exchangers in the Greasecar fuel system. These heat exchangers will heat the vegetable oil in the fuel filter, lines and fuel tank. The heat will reduce the viscosity of vegetable oil so that it is similar to diesel and can be injected into the engine properly. When the vehicle is being shut down for a period long enough for the fuel to cool the vegetable oil must be purged from the fuel system and replaced with diesel for the next start up. Purging generally takes around 30 seconds and can be done while driving with the push of the button on you Greasecar controls.

@antithesis
I did research more into gasohol. Apprently,the oil/gas companies.
Had to have a kind of freakish marriage. With the corn to a combustible companies.
Hence the "this may contain up to 10% methanol" with. A picture of a corn cob.
We all see it a lot gassing up.
HEE HE HEEHEE you said corn cob. HEE HE HEE

AND once again we get to call BS on 'ol antZ.

"DOE has announced over $1 billion in multi-year biofuels research and development projects,"

in no way is comparable to:

"But we gave $7 trillion-with-a-T to fossil fuel companies in 2023 alone"

The first dubious claim concerns the amount of subsidy our DOE forked over.

The second claim is a highly subjective estimate of world wide funny money larger than our total budget.

What compels liberal leftist zitZ to pester incomparable factoids to bugger their foolish arguments?

YOU go, antZ !

|METALTRUCKER|

Yes actually
I'm aware of "gasohol".

antithesis

Metal, are you familiar with biodiesel?

We do have the ability to make fuel out of vegetable and animal fats, and "each gallon of corn ethanol today delivers as much as 67% more energy than is used to produce it."

The problem, of course, is the lack of subsidies. The link above shows that the "DOE has announced over $1 billion in multi-year biofuels research and development projects," which is great! But we gave $7 trillion-with-a-T to fossil fuel companies in 2023 alone...

@anybodybutthepcrambos
Methane BIG pockets under our swamps.
Especially under the Florida Everglades. I don't know why I didn't remember that.
Was watching a cable show.
With the persons capturing methane. With a completely ez way.
It was literally bubbling up. All over the place.
All they had to do.
Was literally walk around in the swamp water.
* going to dig deeper into this

ALSO.
Propane fueled combustion engined.
I know many propane delivery trucks. Do run on propane.
Why not also focus on using thus? Sounds like a good idea.

Yes Germany lost to Russia, who is Russia fight now.

tribune

After Germany lost the Russian then the Rumanian oilfields, they were forced by necessity to manufacture synthetic gasoline. It was not an economic but a survival issue, thank God it didn't make any difference to the outcome of WWII.

America needs sensible people to get control of our government and do way with everything the EPA has done for the last 25 years concerning vehicle emissions. Doing this would eliminate low sulphur diesel fuel and bring expensive diesel fuel down to the cost of regular gasoline like it used to be. This alone would do wonders in the fight against Bidenflation.

In the 1980's CBS aired a show about making synthetic gasoline from coal. Germany did this in WWII. One of the guests was the governor of either Montana or Wyoming, western states with large coal deposits. They said it could be done and sold at $1.25 a gallon, then. Don't know why it never happened. Maybe the EPA didn't like the idea.

Hey dogbutt, how foolish of YOU !

Metal was talking about refining synthetic oil into synthetic gasoline.

The process YOU have proposed is called pyrolysis AND

The energy needed to extract the chemicals from the waste is more than the chemicals themselves produce, leaving the system in negative energy equity - a violation of the laws of thermodynamics.

@dogsbutler
BINGOOO!! we must push the issue BIG TIME.

@fakey
pardon mois,have ye seen?just how much $?
It costs to produce an EV powertrain? The sheer cost of life. Of miners alone,mostly. The almost slave like work force. To mine the lithium for the batteries?
Ja Vohl! You really should look harder at that.
Costs much much more $. To produce the EVs as a whole.
Synthetic oil,hmmmm now there's an issue!
