Historically, they deny their racism but then talk about how white people in general have done their race wrong. I have one non-white friend that close enough for me to have shown her the stats that I posted here, showing that black people are actually less likely to be killed by a cop than a white person... like others on here, at first she was shocked, then she denied the facts and wanted to drop the subject.
But my problem is on a larger social scale more than local. Like how TV shows now all show black people as victims and white people as the villain.
Have you heard of "Mean world syndrome?" It's a cognitive bias where people think the world is more dangerous than it really is, because of violent content on mass media. I think that we're seeing the same thing today with race relations... non-white people believe that the world is worse for their race than it really is, because mass media has convinced them of it.
