That's debatable. We don't know how many actually crossed, we just know how many were apprehended. That's not necessarily the same thing.

If the 80 new miles of barrier had an impact, why wouldn't they still be working? It's not like Biden tore them down...

No, and neither have you... as I've shown several times, the number of apprehensions are no worse than they've been in the past.

May of 2019 was actually the most number of apprehensions since 2000, and 2019 was the highest since 2010. So obviously Trump's efforts had little to no effect.

However, only 80 miles of new barriers have been built where there were none before - that includes 47 miles of primary wall, and 33 miles of secondary wall built to reinforce the initial barrier.

There has been around $15bn spent for the construction of the barrier coming from various US government departments, including the Department of Homeland Security, and the Defense and Treasury Departments.
