I said from the beginning that if Joe would just sit in the Oval Office and do nothing but flip boogers at the ceiling for the next 3 years, he'd win the reelection by a landslide.
Going on vacation doesn't work, though.

That's all fine and dandy, Bestill. But Joe is holding elected office, and he needs to worry about 2024.
When Trump inevitably runs in 2024, you know one of the things he's going to point out is how many times Joe was on vacation. It doesn't matter how much work he actually accomplished while he was there.

I know, and I complained a lot during his term that he spent more time on vacation than any other President before him.
But I don't like double standards. If we weren't OK with Trump doing it then we shouldn't be OK with Biden doing it. We need to hold our representatives to a HIGHER standard, not give them a free pass because of their party.

I don't know, but like I said... optics matter. In 3 years nobody's going to say "oh, but look, he was working soooo hard at home!"
If he's going home to work then he could have stayed at the White House and worked.
I said it about Trump, so I'll say it now: if you don't want the job, don't apply for it.
