SNAP registration will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, 11 AM until 12:30 PM, at the HSOW Building at the Hidden Oaks Dog Park, Cub Creek.
There have been some changes to the SNAP program, so please read the following carefully :

-Costs: $50 per dog and $35 per cat (please bring exact change or a check)
-Limit of two pets per registration event toward a limit of two dogs and six cats per year
-Bring a copy of last year's tax return showing net household income of $25,000/year or less, or the pet owner's current Medicaid card
-Bring a valid ID showing Wilkes County residence
-For Wilkes Veterinary Hospital new clients, bring the form from the wellness exam with your surgery appointment on it

*Participating Veterinarians: Animal Ark-Elkin and Wilkes Veterinary Hospital will accept vouchers from current and new clients; please be sure to tell them you plan to use a SNAP voucher when you make your appointment. Animal Ark prefers that you make your appointment after you get your voucher. Wilkes Veterinary Hospital requires that new clients make an appointment for a wellness exam for your pet(s) first ($45), then schedule the surgery appointment after the wellness exam, then get the voucher. Current clients may schedule an appointment directly. Riverview Veterinary Hospital will accept vouchers as a coupon from their current clients only; please call them for details. Animal Hospital of Wilkes will not accept SNAP vouchers.

Vouchers are valid for 45 business days. The next SNAP registration event will be October 7.
