Old Fashioned Chocolate Cobbler
Old Fashioned Chocolate Cobbler

An ooey, gooey mess that tastes great!

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup self rising flour
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
3 Tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa

Mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup self rising flour, 2 Tablespoons cocoa, 1/2 cup milk, 3 Tablespoons melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a bowl, and spread into a greased 11x7 or 9x13 glass baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix the ingredients for the topping, then sprinkle it evenly on top of the first mixture.

Pour 1 1/2 cups hot water gently over all. DO NOT MIX, just gently pour over all.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. The bottom will still be soupy, which is the fudge, so don't overcook it.

Serve hot or cold. Goes great with vanilla ice cream!

Another tip - instead of pouring hot water over it, trying pouring a cup of strong, hot coffee! It gives the cobbler a mocha flavor, and enhances the richness a little.
