OldYeller

just because you are on a motorcycle when the POSTED SPEED LIMIT IS 65 YOU ASSUME ITS ok to run 80 OBEY THE LAW

When you chose to ride a bike, you chose to take the risk. You should take the responsibility to pay attention and drive safely.

My policy is given room. Never tailgate and try and look. Beyond their/your path. So? No mishaps.
You should see the great country roads in BRITAIN.

So because someone is doing 90 it's okay to pull right out in front of them?

My point was that it is hard to tell how fast a bike is going. It also takes a much longer distance for a bike to stop. Of course you are just being a smart ask like usual.

Old Yeller,

I don't doubt that you have had incidents with motorcyclists. I won't defend idiocy. But have you ever seen the same actions perpetrated by car drivers?

I have. IN fact, I am a car driver mostly. I am constantly surprised by the actions of my fellow car drivers. And truckers. A** holes come in all shapes and sizes, and drive all sorts of vehicles.

we can't condemn them writ large based solely on what they are driving/riding at the moment.

Only thing I'm not a fan of is when someone rides on the center lines...other than that keep your eyes open.

well i;ve had issues on INTERSTATE 77 & 40 as well as 421 the DONT obey the law as for speed limit went to charlotte saw 2 with a beer in there hand thats aganist the law for sure i give motorcycles RESPECT but seldom get RESPECT in return

the most common cause of motorcycle accidents is the failure of other motorists on the road to detect and recognize motorcycles on the road.

The limited visibility due to the bikes' small size can make it hard for even the most attentive driver to see a motorcycle coming.

It can be hard to see a motorcycle on the road due to glare or being obstructed by something else on the road and just flat out not paying attention.

Hey Springy...

"Most of the time when a person gets killed on a bike it is because they are doing something stupd. Sure, people pull out in front of them but that is because they don't expect the biker to be doing 90 in a 45."

MOST? Do you even know what "most" means?

Where do you even come up with this crap.

It is not always the case, but it is almost always the case.

That's nearsighted and not always the case.

Sometimes when on two wheels it is smart to be assertive with one's moves.
